20 Percent of Republicans Want This Guy as the Nominee

From CNNWASHINGTON (CNN) – Conservative activists on Saturday named former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney the winner of a poll for best 2012 GOP presidential candidate.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won 20 percent of the vote in straw poll for presidential favorites

The poll marked the third consecutive year Romney came out on top.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal placed second in the annual poll, conducted at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Romney received 20 percent of the vote and Jindal got 14 percent.

Close behind were Texas Rep. Ron Paul and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who each received 13 percent of the vote.

Let’s think this through:

  1. Mitt Romney: Mormon, The Really Handsome Contender, Has All Those Family Members Who Really Similar to Him (Team Mitt!)
  2. Bobby Jindal: Not Old White Dude, He Seems to Be Popular in Louisiana, Gave the GOP Response to the POTUS State of the Union, the “New” GOP
  3. Ron Paul: Old White Guy, Had a Sizeable Grassroots Campaign During Last Election, He’s Ron Paul!
  4. Sarah Palin: Woman, From Alaska, Former Vice Presidential Nominee, the Maverick

I wonder how this makes Mitt feel. They say third time’s a charm. And, after all, he did nearly get the nomination during the past election. 2012 could be Mitt’s year.

But then again, it was only 20 percent of the vote. Which is small (although good for Rick Perry–who only had approximately 20 percent of the vote when he was voted Governor). So whether or not this will determine who’s going to go up against either Obama or Hillary (You know she wants to run again. Can she wait for 2016? It’s hard to say), is a tough call. Right now, we’re going to go with a Yes. Yes, Mitt, you have a better-than-average change of becoming the next nominee. I bet some people are thinking that you could have beaten Obama. Just by the sheer bright, whitness of your teeth. Because it’s dental hygiene that gets you to the White House. 4 out of 5 dentists would vote for you based on your teeth. The fifth guy just wants to rebel (who needs him anyways?).

And since when is Ron Paul a Republican? Have I missed this important point?

  1. Since I am still in mega procrastination mood this fine Sunday morning, I thought I would respond to this post with a few of my thoughts.

Mitt Romney? Really GOP? Really!?!?- I am so tired of this guy. And why are we starting a campaign so damn early. I cannot handle another election cycle already. I just can’t do it! Obama’s numbers are so high right now, who wants to tackle that?

I really don’t think Hillary is going to run in 2012. What is she sixty-six years old? I don’t think the US populous sees her at a viable seventy year old candidate. I just don’t see it. She has a very powerful position now, can she use it as her leverage point? Secondly, it appears that Obama is pushing for universal healthcare. If he achieves this goal what does Hillary have left to accomplish?

Poor Ron. Yes, Ron Paul is a Republican, but he isn’t well liked by other GOP members on the the hill. He is to macabre.

Sarah Palin=blah. I really hope not.

I gave my spill, but who really cares at this point? For all we know, we could be speaking Russian by then ;- )
