The One With Odds and Ends

I’ve spent most of the week trying to find and organize my things so that I can move into my dorm room.

It’s really amazing how much stuff I have. I don’t know how it’s all going to fit in my room. It is, after all, going to be my own little prison cell rabbit warren.

What I’ve learned:

  • Suitcases are better than cardboard boxes. Why? You can wheel them around! And with my room being on the first floor, it works out perfectly.
  • I have too many books and DVDs. I’d keep some at home, but I know that they’ll get a lot of use next year. Every once and a while you’ve got to have a DVD marathon. It keeps things interesting.
  • Fake flowers are better than real ones. You don’t have to water them and they last forever.
  • Planning is key. I really should have planned.
  • Those loose ends that have been sitting in your car all summer are things you should remember that you have. That way, you won’t fool yourself into thinking that you’ve got a lot of trunk space.
  • The tax for a new TV is roughly $25. On the receipt there’s a ‘Tax 1′ and a ‘Tax 3′, but no ‘Tax 2.’
  • You can never have enough movers. Tricking family members is essential.

Just wanted to say HI. I found your blog a few days ago on Technorati and have been reading it over the past few days.
