The One About Circadian Rhythms

It’s difficult to transition from college time to normal time.

At college, going to bed around 2am was normal. That’s 2am on weeknights. Towards the end, I went to bed at 3-4am, sometimes later.

Why? I don’t know. I think I became sort of nocturnal. Sometimes it’d be that I was doing homework. At other times, I just piddled around.

I found out that my dorm was at its most quiet around 5am. It was nice. Unfortunately, I was never able to be up at 5am because it meant I’d have stayed up all night, or woken up early. Neither was very enjoyable.

Now that I’m at home, I realize how much my circadian rhythm was affected. My parents go to bed at 10pm. Once, they wanted to watch Becoming Jane, but when I told them it was 9pm and the movie took 2 hours and 35 minutes, the plan was quickly abandoned.

Even Ryan goes to bed around 10-11.

So now I’m all out of whack. At first, I was sleeping entirely during the day and staying up all night. Now, it’s getting better. I still have a ways to go.
